Delivering Age-Restricted Items (alcohol, tobacco, pharmacy items) usually means more orders and more earnings. If you're open to it, it’s a great way to boost your earnings!
🚫 Who can’t deliver alcohol? If you’re under 18, you can’t deliver alcohol - that’s the law. So if you haven’t turned 18 yet, these orders won’t be available to you.
✅ What should I do when delivering alcohol? Simple — follow the law:
If the order includes age-restricted items, the app will remind you to check the customer’s ID. They already know about this and are expecting to show their ID.
Before handing over the order, make sure: - The ID is valid (passport, ID card, or driver’s license) - The name on the ID matches the name on the order - The customer is over 18 years old - The customer is not visibly intoxicated 🚫 If any of these checks fail or if the customer refuses to show ID, please contact our Support immediately and ask the customer to do the same.
So when you deliver, always ask for ID to check their age before handing over the order.

Always check ID for tobacco & nicotine deliveries
Did you know that we also deliver tobacco and nicotine products?
These items — such as cigarettes, nicotine pouches, and e-cigarette products — can only be delivered to customers who are 18 years or older. To help us keep deliveries safe and compliant, always follow these steps when handling such orders:
✅ STEP 1: Look for the "ID CHECK" label
You’ll see a clear label in the courier app indicating the order includes age-restricted items.
🪪 STEP 2: Check the customer’s ID
Before handing over a delivery that includes age-restricted items (such as tobacco, nicotine products, or alcohol), an ID check is required. Kindly make sure that:
The ID is valid (passport, ID card, or driver’s license)
The name on the ID matches the name on the order
The customer is over 18 years old
The customer is not visibly intoxicated
🚫 If these criteria are not met or if the customer refuses to show ID:
If age-restricted items are in a separate bag: the non-restricted items may be handed over, and the bag with the "always check ID" sticker should be returned.
If everything is in one bag: the full order should be returned, and nothing handed over.
In both situations, contact Support immediately and ask the customer to do the same.
❗According to law, it’s very important to make sure age-restricted products (including tobacco) are not handed over to anyone underage. If this were to happen, even unintentionally, it could lead to legal consequences, for example fines.
📱 STEP 3: Confirm the delivery After verifying the ID, tap the confirmation button in the app.
We understand that some couriers may prefer not to deliver tobacco and nicotine products. While there isn’t an opt-out feature available just yet, the team is actively working on a solution and we’ll share updates as soon as it’s ready.
As always, you can choose not to accept orders you don’t wish to deliver. 💙

At Wolt, order safety and security are one of our top priorities. With the Digital Handshake, we are taking a giant leap forward in making deliveries more secure than ever before. Please note that this feature will not apply to all deliverable orders: this feature will help us to deliver restricted items, over-the-counter medications (OTC), and high-value items, more safely than it was!
How this feature works:
1. This feature will enable a 3-digit code that will be sent to the customer. 🔥 2. The customer needs to give it to the courier partner before the courier partner can deliver the order and mark the task as complete. 🚀 3. The code is randomly generated.
We believe that this new feature will not only make our customer experience more convenient but also provide an extra layer of security, especially for items that require special handling. It will also help to reduce the number of mixed orders, because you will be sure that the order reached that particular customer!
