For 31 years, Jaana has opened Kampin Kukka’s doors every single day, turning her mother’s small flower shop into a Helsinki landmark. With Wolt, she has completed nearly 20,000 deliveries and found new ways to grow her business, from busy weekday orders to luxury bouquets.

Jaana Myrttinen still remembers the call from her mother asking if she’d like to take over one of her flower shops.

She slept on it, and then said yes the very next day, expecting the project might last a year or two. Thirty-one years later, she still unlocks Kampin Kukka every morning, Christmas and Midsummer included, and what began as a small florist is now a neighborhood fixture for birthdays, farewells, and simple moments that need a lift.

“Someone always needs flowers,” Jaana says.

Bringing delivery into the heart of the store

In 2020, curious about delivery and looking for a way to grow her business, Jaana became one of the first florists in Finland to join Wolt. “We don’t follow trends, we do our own thing. That’s why joining Wolt felt natural,” she says.

Inside the shop, the Wolt order notification sets the pace. “It’s music to my ears,” Jaana says. “I always think of money when I hear it.” Olga, a florist on Jaana’s team, adds: “When the notification rings, we run. It keeps us fast and focused.” 

Since then, the team has completed 20,000 deliveries through Wolt, from single stems to a bouquet of 100 roses worth €1,000. “Every order matters to us. Small or big, we put in the same care.” 

Fast delivery also keeps stock moving when fresh flowers arrive from the Netherlands. “The more I can sell, the more I can buy. And I love buying flowers.”

Running a small business means making every euro work. 

For Jaana, that means putting her marketing budget where she can see clear returns. “With other platforms, I never knew exactly what I was getting. With Wolt, I see the reports. I know what my money brings back.”

The numbers back her up. 

A recent Wolt+ campaign increased Kampin Kukka’s sales by 58%. The clarity of the results gave Jaana the confidence to double down. “This summer, all our marketing spend goes into Wolt,” she says.

Managing the busiest days with confidence

Mother’s Day is one of the most important dates in a florist’s calendar, and often the most stressful. In Kampin Kukka’s early years, the queues stretched 100 meters down the street. The team struggled to keep up, and customers faced long waits.

Wolt has changed the rhythm of those days. More than 100 pre-orders arrive through the app before the doors even open. Families get their bouquets on time, and the staff can keep up.

Wolt has also made the shop less dependent on the weather or the season. Rainy days, which once kept people away, now bring spikes in delivery. National holidays no longer mean downtime.

Between 2023 and 2024, Kampin Kukka’s sales through Wolt grew by 26.7% year over year. “Without Wolt, we wouldn’t have the resources to manage this volume,” Jaana reflects. “It has become part of how we operate.”

Growth with heart

Although Jaana has run Kampin Kukka for more than three decades, she still finds joy in the simplest part of her work: filling the shop with fresh flowers. 

That love has carried her through busy holidays, long winters, and 20,000 deliveries, and it’s what keeps her shop thriving today with Wolt at her side.
