Accessibility statement

We are committed to ensuring is accessible for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and are applying the relevant accessibility standards to make the website as accessible and easy-to-use as possible.

Measures to support accessibility

To ensure is accessible, we are taking the following steps:

  • Including accessibility to our internal policies. For example, our standard pull request template requires the developers to pay attention to and verify the accessibility whenever new features or changes are released.

  • Appointing an accessibility officer (Antti Kosonen appointed on 9th of June 2020).

  • Providing accessibility training for our staff.

  • Assigning clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.

  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods. We are using different external auditors twice a year to identify the potential issues.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA and is working on being full conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Limitations of

Despite our best efforts to ensure is accessible to everyone, there may be some limitations. Below you'll find a description of the known limitations and what we are doing about them. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below or can not access parts of this website.

We’ll do our best to get back to you within 5 working days.

Known limitations:

Issues with focus indication

Firefox web browser does not tab focus on anchor tags (links) when using a Mac operating system.

What we are doing about it:

This is caused by Firefox honouring the Mac operating system keyboard preferences and can be fixed by the user. In the “System Preferences” go to the “Keyboard” preferences and in there to the “Shortcuts” panel. In this panel check the “Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls” radio button.

Issues with Restaurant application forms

When a restaurant wants to get on the Wolt platform, their manager can fill in the form at We are using a 3rd-party service to manage and keep track of the incoming requests. The restaurant application form has accessibility issues with tab navigation and semantic headlines.

What we are doing about it:

We have communicated the accessibility issues related to the external sites, whose services we use, to the service providers. Wolt is also in the progress of becoming less reliable of external services which will improve our accessibility further.

Issues with videos

Some older videos and videos that provide no contextual information on our site do not have sound or captions. We also use videos from Youtube embedded on our site and are not responsible for any accessibility issues related to their video player. The videos used at are not critical for the core functionality. Using Wolt for the main use case – ordering food – does not require users to watch any videos.

What we are doing about it:

We will make sure that the videos that Wolt produces have captions whenever possible. We have updated our internal video production guidelines during 2020 to include accessibility aspects.

Issues with contrast

Some elements of the website may not have sufficient colour contrast. Currently, the secondary button element, coloured #009de0, is sometimes shown on white background. That contrast is not sufficient and therefore not compliant with the accessibility guidelines.

What we are doing about it:

While most of the contrast issues on have been fixed and tuned to be more accessible, few issues remain to be fixed in the future.

Issues with links having insufficient context

Some of our internal and external link texts might not be fully descriptive and clear to all users. For example, our courier partner contact page at has a link “Apply now”, that is not fully descriptive without the surrounding context.

What we are doing about it:

We are working on making our link texts more descriptive and accessible.

Wolt blog

We sometimes publish articles, marketing and insights on our blog at Wolt blog is not part of the core service, and ordering food via Wolt doesn’t require reading any blog posts we’ve published. We have identified the following accessibility issues with our blog:

  • Keyboard navigation is not fully accessible on all of our blog pages

  • Some internal and external link texts are not descriptive and accessible enough to all readers

  • Some of the images used lack a descriptive alternative text

  • Certain textual elements in our blog pages require contrast adjustment
