FAQ for Wolt courier partners

A courier partner picks up from venues orders which he/she has accepted via Wolt courier partner application and delivers them to the customers in the best possible quality.

As a Wolt Courier Partner, you are responsible for providing professional delivery service. Courier partners must use their own equipment, including a vehicle (car, bicycle, scooter) and their own mobile device.

There is no legal restriction for our Courier Partners to deliver for competitors as long as it does not affect quality of service in Wolt.

If you know someone who would like to deliver with Wolt you can recommend them to register as a courier partner as it is not allowed to share your account with others. You are responsible for all the orders delivered via your account.

Delivery through Wolt gives you flexibility and freedom! You can choose when and how you deliver.

All tasks are automatically allocated to a courier partner through our algorithm by ensuring that the order is delivered to our customer as soon as possible. The task is shown to a courier partner in the Wolt Partner app with all the order details and then it is up to them to decide whether they want to accept the offered task. The optimization has no personal bias or preference.

This is up to you! You have total freedom in choosing when, how, and for how much time you will be delivering (you are your own boss)

To start, download the Wolt Partner app and sign in. If you do not have a Wolt account yet, you can sign up from the app as well. After you fill in all the information about yourself your application will be completed.

The requirements are: a vehicle that you can deliver with, a mobile device compatible with the Wolt Partner application and you need to be at least 15 years old to become a courier partner.

Firstly, you need to download the Wolt Partner app and submit your application. We will send you a link to our introduction videos where you will find out all the important information. Then you upload the necessary documents to the app. Last but not least, you will sign the contract and order your delivery equipment. After these quick steps you are ready to start delivering with Wolt.

Filling the application form should not take more than 15 minutes. The time to approve your application will depend on your delivery city you applied for - but it could be as quick as just a few days!

Passport or ID-card issued by Estonia or other EU country, Estonian residence permit (if you are not a citizen of EU), a selfie and LTR (if applicable).

After viewing the introduction presentation, you will be able to submit the necessary documentation in the Wolt Partner application.

In Estonia you can deliver in all cities where Wolt operates, all you have to do is contact the support for the change. If you want to deliver in another country, you need to contact their support.

As soon as you have completed all the required steps and received your gear, you are ready to start delivering.

This is most likely due to the higher volume of incoming applications. Do not lose patience, we will get back to you as soon as we can!

As a Wolt courier partner, you are paid for each delivery and your earnings often depend on how busy the Wolt platform is when you go online, which orders you deliver and how efficient you are. You can increase your chances of higher earnings by delivering in the peak hours which are from 11:00 to 13:30 for lunch, and 16:30 to 20:00 for dinner. During the weekends there is high demand during the whole day.

Each task is defined by a unique price offered. Some parameters that affect this pricing are delivery distances, weather conditions, peak hours etc.

With a natural person contract, taxes are paid for you by Wolt. With a company contract, you can turn to your acconting as we can not give tax advice.

There are typically two “peaks” in a day, when there are most orders available. These would be the lunch peak (around 11:00 to 13:30) and dinner peak (around 16:30 to 20:00). By coming online during these peak hours, you maximize your potential earnings, as there would be most tasks available during these times. It’s a good idea to come online early enough in time for the peaks to maximize the potential. Also deliver when others are not - there are less couriers and more orders during rainy/snow days.

Any tip given by a customer goes to you in the total amount (governmental taxes may apply). Customers can tip in the app or by cash.

This depends on quality of service, going online during high-demand times shown in app and many other factors. Delivering with Wolt offers you flexibility, so it depends mostly on how you deliver and when you go online - we recommend using app in the most effective way, so we recommend checking demand information and being online when it is worth it!

Wolt pays you the invoiced VAT-inclusive fees twice per month and emails you a proof of payment. It is up to you to settle your tax and social insurance contributions. For deliveries made during 1-15 of current month, payment is done on 25th of the same month. For deliveries made during 16-31 of current month payment is done on 10th of next month.

You can always track your earnings in the Wolt Partner application under the Finance tab.

All payments will be transferred to the bank account specified in your contract details.

You will need a thermal bag for deliveries which you will receive on the last stage of onboarding. You will also receive additional gear such as jacket and cap/beanie depending on the season.

Motorcycle, car, bicycle, scooter.

You will be able to order the gear during the onboarding process via link we will provide during your application. The gear will be delivered to your address.

You don’t necessarily have to use Wolt gear. But you do have to have gear that is safe for delivery and fulfills any applicable food safety requirements and safeguards food safety.

A gear deposit of 50€ is deducted from your first earnings. The deposit is returned to you once you return the gear.

Yes. It is possible to switch between vehicle types, all you need to do is contact the support team and change your gear.

You can take your time off to recover and get back whenever you feel ready to do so. You can decide when and whether you will deliver with Wolt.

If you get COVID-19 it is important to stay at home, limit contact with other people and strictly follow the recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus. You can return to delivering after having a negative test.

If you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 you can take a test as soon as possible. Until then be careful and wear a protective face mask.

You are free to take a break from Wolt whenever you feel like it. However, if you want to take a longer break, don't forget to return your gear.

In case of an accident you can contact Support team and let them know if they can assist you in any way. Afterwards, you can make a claim to Collective Benefits insurance programme provided to you you by Wolt. The application of the claim can be done in Wolt Partner app.

Wolt provides private insurance to via Collective Benefits. This private programme is valid in case there has been an accident and you were online in the app at that time. Read more about insurance from Collective Benefits here - https://woltpartner.ee/insurances#insurance

If you deliver with a motor vehicle, you need the mandatory motor vehicle / traffic insurance required by law.

After downloading the Wolt Partner app, press the Log In button and eneter your country telephone code and your phone number. You will then receive SMS with a 6 digit code that you need to enter in the relevant place in the app. That's it! You are now logged in!

Each PIN code is generated every time you log in Wolt Partner app and it is for one time use.

You can contact Operations Team and ask your account to be set offline. Please keep in mind that you need to return all the remaining gear.

A pickup task is the task of a Courier Partner picking up food/orders from a given restaurant or store. The pickup task is shown as a ‘pickup notification’ in the Partner App.

When you swipe to start a pick-up task, the pick-up information will appear on your screen. This will contain the address and all other relevant details you need to know to be able to pick up the order from the venue, eg. what door to enter through, or where you can pick up the order within the location. Please read the pick-up information carefully.

A dropoff task is the task of a Courier Partner delivering food/orders from a given restaurant or store to a given customer location.

Drop-off information includes the customer's address, customer name, info about whether the customer wants contactless drop-off, additional user note if user has left it and the call button in case you need to call the customer. You are also able to send the address to the navigation app of your choice using the navigation button in the top right corner.

When you choose to deliver on Bundle Task Mode it means that it allows you to deliver multiple orders at the same time. This means that you can deliver two or three orders at the same time. Read more about Bundle task mode: https://woltpartner.ee/payments#bundles

Most probably this happens when your device has lost its signal and the task has already been accepted by another courier partner.

You can get total kilometers by clicking on the “Stats” tab in the Wolt Partner app, where you can see the distance traveled in the desired time interval.

If an order is significantly late, you can contact support to unassign it from you, or you can choose to wait as well.

If you can't find the customer, try contacting them by phone. If you are still unable to contact the customer, we recommend that you contact Wolt Support for assistance.

If you can't reach the customer, we recommend that you contact Wolt Support to see if they can help you find the customer. If the customer will not get in touch, the Wolt Support will tell you the next steps.

In case of a large order that does not fit in your bag, we recommend you contact the support team so we can send another Courier Partner to help you.

If the order got damaged please take a picture of it and forward it to the support team, so we can contact the venue and the customer accordingly. The support team will guide you through your next steps on how to handle the order.

We recommend you contact the Support Team and send a picture of spillage/damage so we can evaluate how the situation can be handled. Please note that in case your gear got stained, we recommend you clean it as soon as possible to maintain a professional appeal.

We strongly recommend that courier partner only click "Order Delivered" when the order has actually been delivered to the customer's hands or door. Timely notification of order completion will help to avoid misunderstandings and will also have a very positive impact on the customer experience.

As you will spend most of your time on the road, we recommend that you prioritise your safety and the safety of others. Contact Wolt Support Team to let us know that you will be late arriving at the venue due to traffic.

City transfers are done instantly and all you need to do is contact the support team.

We are sorry to hear that you have decided to end the partnership. However, you can always come back and renew our partnership! If you decide to end the partnership, please contact us via Wolt Partner App.

Wolt can end our partnership in case there is a violation of any of the terms included in your contract. Some cases of ending partnership may include things like insulting behavior to the customer, harassment to the customer/restaurant/support team or any inapropriate contact towards the customer/restaurant/support, sharing your account with other people, misreporting delivery vehicle, delaying orders or pickups on purpose, breaking the law.

You can contact Wolt Support team whenever a delivery does not follow the regular processes of pick up or drop off. Also in case of emergency (e.g. accident) please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We recommend checking support tab to find out paths and topics you can select from!
